• CURTAIN • POJAGI CURTAIN •

POJAGI (Bojagi) is a A Korean tradition of a wrapping cloth sewed of square patches - in the sacred believe that keeping something wrapped protects good luck. I feel like using this method for my curtains, I wrap natural colors in pojagis as a wish of a good luck for this earth.

WABI-SABI AESTHETICS

WABI-SABI • my METHOD & a way of viewing the world ~ the method of imperfection, of natural flow, the appreciation of beauty that is incomplete & flawfull & natural • in japanese you call this WABI-SABI as it is a very old Japanese aesthetics based on natural imperfection ~ flawed beauty that makes you feel a spiritual longing or feel emotions like melancholy ~ I love this way of looking at things, at beauty, at souls and because I most often see the flaws in my work as the actual soul of it ~ this is a way of looking at the world that really speaks to me • WABI-SABI creations often emphasize the process of creating a piece that is ultimately imperfect ~ as the creation follows the natural path of the material or process • this is how I work with things, with pojagis, with garments & my textile works all in all • If you order a POJAGI curtain from me, you will see how I work with this aesthetics - I follow the rules of the reworked textiles, I respect the soul of this fabric and I work it in a natural way that leads to an imperfect natural result - This is my way of working & this is why all my creations are totally unique & made especially for a particular customer and with a total respect of “what was”. I hope you will love the imperfections as much as I do •

NOTES ON SUSTAINABLE CRAFTED TEXTILES

All my textiles are made from recycled fabrics and samples that have had a prior use. They are mainly dyed with natural colors, plants and flowers, locally collected by me. This means that every single piece of textile is individual, its uniquely made and its got its own soul. A lot of souls goes into making one big art piece.

When ordering one of my textile works, that is what you get. A uniquely made piece of handcrafted art, where every single piece of the puzzle has been thoroughly cared for, by me. Every piece was made with a vision of its own and tells a story. Its been washed, scoured, mordanted and dyed or printed. This proces takes days. For each individual piece of work.

This is a plantdyed fabric made from natural living color, free of toxins and chemicals that can pollute nature and irritate skin • A natural dye fades over time. This is a natural cycle, that I ask you to embrace as beautiful. Please enjoy the process of these variations as a natural part of a sustainable decor/fashionwear. These are all unique and dyed by hand and should be handled with care. Help your new piece of handcrafted art by following these guidelines:

• Do not wash often

• Always wash in cold water with a delicate cycle & a gentle PH neutral detergent

• If its a wall piece or wearable textile - Keep away from extreme sun exposure

• Item is carefully packed and shipped in a recycled box. NOTE that this box may not be pretty as it is a re-use! Ships within 1-3 businessdays.

• If you need to send it as a gift, I will gladly ship it of directly to the lucky person with an enclosed personal message of your choice! Let me know!

MEASURING GUIDELINES

• CURTAIN • POJAGI CURTAIN •

I need the measurements on “the area” where you want your curtain. So you need to imagine the width and length of your curtain and give me those measurements. Which is not always the same as the size of e.g the window or door where it will hang.

To get the curtain to look "relaxed" with neat folds, curtain has to exceed the window by 30 - 40 cm.

If you want the curtain to reach the floor or the door or window sill, you should measure from curtain rail to sill and deduct 1 cm.

I will happily sew any particular band to your curtain if provided. There are too many different solutions to hanging a curtain, for me to have an actual stock to choose from.

If the curtain fits a wire, you will get the curtain and put it on the wire yourself.
